It is tough being a single parent, even tougher when you get back into the dating world. Not only do you have to find a suitable partner but someone that your children will accept. Many single parents try 100% free online dating sites and do not realize the dangers for themselves or their children. Free dating sites do not have the real names of their customers, these sites are paid through advertising so that means you are NOT their customer. Many of the ads are for quality paid single parent dating sites who take their businesses very seriously. They manage the site and take complaints very seriously. Scammers and spammers can not get in like they can on a free single parent dating site. It may seem a good idea at first to try a free site, but once you see the kind of people who visit these sites you will change your mind. Your safety and the safety of your children are very important. Isn’t it worth it to pay a few cents a day to find quality single men and women?
‘I never intended to be a single mum, I thought my boyfriend would have stayed with me forever but as soon as Jake was born he told me that he was not ready to be a father. (not sure if I was ready to be a single mother but I had no choice). I would not change a thing, Jake has lit up every day of my life. Even through the sleepless nights and exhaustion from balancing college and a job I hope by signing up on your single parent dating site that I will find someone else who will love me and Jake. My friends have used online dating services, so I am giving it a try.
In a recent Toronto star article they say the number of single families raising children on their own is rising. The Toronto Star states:
The latest data from the 2006 census, released Wednesday by Statistics Canada, indicates 16.9 per cent of all families in what’s known as the census metropolitan area of Toronto have one parent. (Statistics Canada uses the term “families” to mean couples who live together but don’t have children as well as an adult or adults with at least one child.)
Among those families with children, 24.0 per cent are headed by a single parent.
The proportion of lone-parent families in the region has increased since the 2001 census, when they represented 16.4 per cent of all families and 21.3 per cent of families with children.
And in those one-parent families, women by far outnumber the men. Among the lone-parent families in the Toronto region, 83.2 per cent are headed by women.
